Intern Spotlight: Bailey Holtmeier

Jun 29, 2026

Get to know Bailey Holtmeier, the feed sales intern from Tobias, Nebraska!

Bailey is studying Animal Science at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I chose to intern at Farmers Cooperative because it is close to home and I have seen how it has benefited my family’s farm. I was interested in seeing what goes on in the company and how it works.

What has been the best part of your internship so far?
The best part of my internship so far has been getting to learn more about my projects and the variety that goes with them.

What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
As a feed sales intern, my day-to-day tasks in my role just depend on the day. I sometimes go get grass samples, check the mineral trial pastures, or work on my portfolio. When I work on the portfolio, I am finding tags of products that the locations have.

What is your summer internship project?
I have three summer projects. One is taking grass samples from specific pastures. I will compare these results over the three months of the internship. Another project is overseeing a couple of mineral trials. I will be checking fly counts on the cattle to see how the fly control helps. I will also be looking at the consumption rates of minerals in those pastures. My final project is creating portfolios for a few locations. I will be inputting all the feed that they have at the specific location and printing off tags.

How did you find out about the Farmers Cooperative internship?
I found out about the Farmers Cooperative internship through word of mouth. I always knew that they had internships.

What is a fun fact about yourself?
I have a mini-Australian Shepherd mixed with Red Heeler dog.

We’re excited to welcome Bailey to the team this summer and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make throughout her internship!
