Get to know Carter Skleba, one of the agronomy operations interns from Wilber, Nebraska!
Carter is studying Agricultural Science at Concordia University.
Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I chose to intern at Farmers Cooperative because I wanted to get new hands-on experiences in the agricultural world, while helping customers with everyday needs.
What has been the best part of your internship so far?
The best part of my internship is helping and building relationships with the customers.
What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
My daily tasks include loading and delivering chemicals, helping out customers with chemical and feed needs, and giving recommendations to customers if applicable.
What is your summer internship project?
My internship project is evaluating how different rates of starter fertilizer affect the growth stage and growth of corn overall. It also involves collecting tissue samples and seeing if there may be a difference within the different rates.
How did you find out about the Farmers Cooperative internship?
I found out about the Farmers Cooperative internship through close friends who have gone through this program before and enjoyed it.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
My elbows are double-jointed.
