Intern Spotlight: Chase Paulsen

Jul 22, 2025

Meet Chase Paulsen, one of our drone operations interns this summer in Hallam, Nebraska.

Chase is from Friend, Nebraska, and is attending Southeast Community College - Beatrice, majoring in Agribusiness. He anticipates graduating in May 2027.

Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I wanted to get new experiences in the agricultural and cooperative world and build relationships with those around me.

Why did you choose this specific internship?
I chose the drone internship because I wanted to push myself and get a better understanding of a part of agriculture I wasn’t very familiar with. It felt like a great opportunity to get out of my comfort zone and gain new experience.

What has been the best part of your internship so far?
So far, learning how to fly the drones, and getting to fly them in the fields has been my favorite.

What are you most excited about with your internship?
I am most excited about flying the drones at a higher knowledge level and seeing all the different capabilities we can use them for.

What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
Usually, we are installing moisture probes, practicing flying the drones, and helping around the shop whenever needed.

What are your plans after graduation?
I’m not exactly sure what I want to do after graduation, but I do want to go into something related to agriculture.

Fun fact?
I started my own lawn care business a while ago, and it’s been an awesome way to build my skills and stay active in my community.

We’re glad to have Chase on board this summer and look forward to seeing the contributions he makes during his internship!
