Meet Dalton Newcomer, our agronomy sales intern, this summer in Milford, Nebraska.
Dalton is from Fremont, Nebraska, and is attending the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, majoring in Agricultural Economics. He anticipates graduating in May 2027.
Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I’ve heard great things about Farmers Cooperative, and it aligns with my career path. I thought it would be a great opportunity to gain experience through an internship here.
Why did you choose this specific internship?
I’m planning to pursue a career in agricultural sales, and this role gives me the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field and build skills that will help me in the future.
What has been the best part of your internship so far?
So far, all the hands-on tasks like mixing chemical and hand spraying our test plots have been fun.
What are you most excited about with your internship?
I’m excited to learn more about the agriculture industry and to build connections with people who have real-world experience in the field.
What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
My day-to-day tasks vary, but I typically help with the chemical and seed sheds and assist with work in the test plots.
What is your summer internship project?
My project involves working on rhizotron experiments to study root development and growth patterns on treated soybeans and corn.
What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation, I plan to find a full-time position in agricultural sales and continue building my own business on the side.
Fun fact?
Both of my arms are double-jointed.
We’re glad to have Dalton on board this summer and look forward to seeing the contributions he makes during his internship!
