Meet Jackson Allen, one of our drone operations interns this summer in Hallam, Nebraska.

Jackson is from Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and is attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, majoring in Agribusiness & Animal Science. He anticipates graduating in May 2027.

Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I chose to intern at Farmers Cooperative because they offer a precision agriculture and drone internship with hands-on training, which was something new and exciting that I really wanted to learn more about.

Why did you choose this specific internship?
Precision agriculture and drones are the future of agriculture, and I wanted to learn more about them since it is an ever-changing field.

What has been the best part of your internship so far?
I have been enjoying traveling around and seeing the different ways producers operate their farms.

What are you most excited about with your internship?
I’m interested in learning more about the technological side of agriculture

What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
We get to install moisture probes, fly fields for stand counts and experimental fertilizer studies, and in July, we apply fungicides with drones.

What are your plans after graduation?
I plan on returning to my family’s farm & ranch to help.

Fun fact?
I have 3 brothers.

We’re glad to have Jackson on board this summer and look forward to seeing the contributions he makes during his internship!
