Jun 19, 2026

Get to know John Janssen, one of the agronomy operations interns from Sterling, Nebraska!

John is studying Agronomy at Southeast Community College.

Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I chose Farmers Cooperative because on our family farm, we have worked with a couple of Farmers Cooperative locations, and I wanted to learn a little bit more about how a cooperative works.

What has been the best part of your internship so far?
I have enjoyed working with different test plots and seeing not only how they are planted, but how they develop.

What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
My day-to-day tasks are loading tender trucks, making deliveries, and preparing chemical totes.

What is your summer internship project?
My project is crop scouting fields and making reports and recommendations.

How did you find out about the Farmers Cooperative internship?
I found out about the internship through Southeast Community College’s career fair.

What is a fun fact about yourself?
My family has three dogs.

We’re excited to welcome John to the team this summer and can’t wait to see the impact he’ll make throughout his internship!
