Intern Spotlight: Owen Meyer

Jul 24, 2025

Meet Owen Meyer, one of our drone operations interns this summer in Hallam, Nebraska.

Owen is from Hooper, Nebraska, and is attending the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, majoring in Agribusiness. He anticipates graduating in May 2028.

Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
Farmers Cooperative stood out because their internship program doesn’t just focus on one area; they give you insight into different industries within the co-op, which sounded like a great learning opportunity.

Why did you choose this specific internship?
Drone operations caught my eye since they’re pretty new, and I wanted to learn more about the technology behind them.

What has been the best part of your internship so far?
Getting to chat with farmers about drone spraying prices while building a solid relationship with them has been one of the highlights.

What are you most excited about with your internship?
What I’m really looking forward to is picking up hands-on skills like operating drone technology and understanding crop management, all things that’ll help me down the road.

What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
My day-to-day operations are getting drones ready for the day, driving to fields, and spraying fields.

What are your plans for after graduation?
After graduation, I want to work as a financial advisor, or work in anything in the agribusiness field.

Fun fact?
I have actually broken my wrist twice.

We’re glad to have Owen on board this summer and look forward to seeing the contributions he makes during his internship!
