Intern Spotlight - Reed McFadden

Jul 11, 2024

Get to know Reed McFadden! He’s from Purdum, NE, and is this summer’s grain operations intern out of Exeter, NE.

Reed is majoring in Business Administration with a concentration in Agribusiness at Concordia University.

Why did you choose to intern with Farmers Cooperative and why did you choose grain operations?
I needed an internship for my major, and once I started looking, Farmers Cooperative seemed like a place I would look to pursue as a career. I chose grain operations because it felt like a good introduction to the crop side of agriculture, coming from a livestock background.

What has been the best part of your internship so far?
The best part is learning how grain moves through the elevator.

Day-to-day activities in your role:
I just go where I’m needed helping with everything from moving grain to unloading trucks.

Post-graduation Plans:
I will graduate in May of 2025 and I’ll go into some sort of agricultural career.

Fun Fact:
I like to watch movies.
