Intern Spotlight: Sydney Heller
Jul 10, 2026
Get to know Sydney Heller, the energy sales intern from Hunter, Kansas!
Sydney is studying Agribusiness at Kansas State University.
Why did you choose to intern at Farmers Cooperative?
I wanted to experience agriculture from a lens in which I hadn't seen it before. Growing up on a farm, I knew what it looked like from a producer's end, but with this internship, I hope to see what it looks like to serve producers and all their needs. I also hope to eventually go into ag policy, and thought this view could be very beneficial to those future endeavors.
What has been the best part of your internship so far?
My favorite part of my internship thus far has been traveling to different Cenex stores and seeing how they are operated, as well as watching problem-solving in action. This has specifically highlighted how important energy is, and how coming up with viable solutions for our customers is extremely pertinent when providing quality customer service.
What are the day-to-day tasks in your role?
My tasks vary daily, and no day is the same. I will be calling people regularly throughout the summer to reach my goal of contacting 160-200 customers. Aside from that, I will sit in on meetings, ride along with employees, and complete any tasks that are asked of me.
What is your summer internship project?
My summer internship project is conducting a customer service survey with 160-200 customers and attempting to schedule at least 15 in-person meetings involving a CES, the customer, and me. Following that, I will compile the data to discover common findings and trends amongst our customer base.
How did you find out about the Farmers Cooperative internship?
I found the application to this internship while researching Handshake for job opportunities. I thought it looked interesting and decided to throw my name in the hat.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I love to dance!!
We’re excited to welcome Sydney to the team this summer and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make throughout her internship!
