Meet Hailey Andersen! This summer Hailey is an agronomy operations intern located in Plymouth, NE.
Where are you from?
I am from Lincoln, NE.
Where do you go to school and what are you studying?
I am majoring in Agronomy at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.
Why did you choose to be an intern with Farmers Cooperative?
I chose to intern with Farmers Cooperative because it allows students to learn in a hands-on way, and they are very welcoming to someone like me who isn't from an agricultural background.
What are some of your day-to-day activities?
Some of my day-to-day activities include crop scouting, typing up work orders, working on my summer project, and learning everything that I can from my mentors.
What is one thing that you've learned so far this summer?
I've learned everything that I know about crop scouting. I've also learned about many different types of seed, chemical, and fertilizer that Farmers Cooperative has available for their producers.
What has been your favorite part of your internship thus far?
One of my favorite parts is being able to learn hands on in a career that I want to do for the rest of my life.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
I participated in dance for 14 years.
What would be your dream job, or what is a job you plan on pursuing post-graduation?
I plan on being a field agronomist post-graduation.
