Flu Shot

Farmers Cooperative is excited to announce that we will again be offering flu shots (partnering with Warren Memorial Hospital) for employees and dependents at Farmers Cooperative locations this year. These shots will be available for all employees, and their dependents, even if they are not on Farmers Cooperative’s health insurance. The nurses are licensed to administer shots to children as well. Please see the schedule below for the specific locations and times.

Everyone will need to bring a few items for the flu shot to be complete. You will need to bring your driver’s license and insurance card (or Medicare card if that is what you have). Please make sure you, or your dependent, bring these items so we can get you in and out quickly. If you do not have insurance, you can still get a flu shot you will just have to bring money for payment (price will be $15).

The flu shot takes about two weeks to develop antibodies and protect against the influenza virus. The shot is effective for six months so it should get you through most of flu season. We understand that harvest will be starting soon, and it will be a little tougher to get out at this time of year. That is why we are going to more locations and are set up for five different days. The flu shot should only take about 10 minutes from start to finish to administer. Please work with your manager and coworkers to make sure everything is covered if you would like to participate.
